UHMWPE Pipe

UHMWPE is produced by co-extruding the average molecular weight material of 3.5-9.2 million viscosity under high temperature and high pressure through an extruder.

UHMWPE Pipe has the following impressive statistics: wear resistance is 15 times that of steel, 8 times lighter than steel, friction coefficient is 5 times lower than steel, and pressure loss is as low as 1/10 of steel pipe. UHMWPE pipelines are very suitable for the transportation of powder and coal ash in thermal power systems, the return water pipeline, the transportation of tailings and mud in the mining industry, and the high-pressure transportation of pulverized coal and coal water slurry in coal preparation plants. The transportation of mud and slag corrosive media in the coal industry and other industries.

Description

UHMWPE Pipe

UHMWPE material is 1/8 of the weight of mild steel, but has high tensile strength. Also different from steel, UHMWPE is a cheap alternative to metals and ceramics, and because of its self-lubricating, durability, wear resistance and corrosion resistance. UHMWPE is very suitable for pipeline applications that require high wear resistance and low friction.

Ultra-high molecular weight PE is a material that has achieved very good results in papermaking, conveying, mechanical processing and fishery for many years.

UHMWPE stands for ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, which is a polyethylene polymer with an average molecular weight greater than 3,100,000, as defined in ASTM D4020-Standard Specification for UHMWPE Polymers. This molecular weight is much higher than the molecular weight of most typical polymers, the latter being between 1,000,000 and 400,000, so it has the title of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. It has been found that polyethylene with a molecular weight in the range of 3.1-4.5 million exhibits the best combination of impact strength and abrasion resistance. Click to buy.

For polyethylene molecular weight classification, the following guidelines can be used:

HDPE (High Density Polyethylene): 100,000 – 400,000 MW

HMWHDPE (High Molecular Weight High Density Polyethylene) 500,000 – 1,999,999

VHMWHDPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight High Density Polyethylene) 2,000,000 – 3,100,000

UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene)> 3,100,000 + MW

UHMWPE Pipe

Application of UHMWPE Pipe:

(1) Thermal power generation: fly ash transportation and return water pipelines.

(2) Petroleum exploitation: oil pumping pipe lining, oil collecting pipe, single well pipe.

(3) Coal industry: pulverized coal transportation, coal water slurry transportation.

(4) Mining industry: tailings slurry transportation, underground filling pipelines.

(5) River dredging: transportation of sediment.

(6) Chemical industry: transportation of corrosive media.

(7) Jinghu sea salt chemical industry: sea salt transportation, brine transportation.

(8) City: water supply and drainage, sewage reuse.

Features:

1. High abrasion resistance

UHMWPE has the best wear resistance among all engineering plastics. The higher the molecular weight of the material, the better the wear resistance of the pipe is guaranteed. The abrasion resistance of UHMWPE pipe is 4-6 times higher than Q235 carbon steel pipe, 2.7 times higher than silicomanganese 13 wear-resistant steel pipe, and 3 times higher than HDPE pipe, which makes UHMWPE pipe very ideal for mortar and slurry discharge.

2. High impact resistance and ring stiffness

The impact resistance of UHMWPE pipe is 2 times that of PC and 10 times that of PTFE. It has good impact resistance and can withstand the impact from various sands, slurries and muds.

3. Low flow resistance coefficient, high transmission efficiency, saving pumping cost.

UHMWPE pipe has very smooth surface, low friction loss and high flow rate.

The Manning roughness coefficient of UHMWPE pipe is 00065, while that of steel pipe is 0012, which greatly improves the transportation efficiency and saves the pumping cost.

4. Minimize time and cost saving

UHMWPE pipe has good wear resistance and its rotation frequency is low, so the pipe replacement cycle will be greatly extended, which effectively reduces the total cost of the project. Due to good anti-adhesive property, UHMWPE pipes are not easy to scale, so there is no need for acid cleaning.

UHMWPE pipes have good corrosion resistance and do not need anti-corrosion treatment.

5. Light weight and easy to install

UHMWPES pipe is light in weight, its material density is 0945gcm3, about one-half of the weight of aluminum and one-eighth of the weight of steel, which effectively reduces the transportation, handling and installation into UHMWPE pipe can be connected by steel flange, easy to install and disassemble UHMWPE short end as a hot piece in the workplace, flat cover and good verticality will keep a good seal and can well protect the flange part from serious wear.
